For those of you who have been following my blog for some time now, you’d know that this product has been on my wishlist for some time now. Now would you all please congratulate me for finally ticking this off my list? No? Okay – anyway, I finally made the purchase through BeautyMNL last month. If I’m not mistaken, the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer retails for about 2,450php in Rustan’s. It costs the same in BeautyMNL, but because it was my very first purchase from the site, I got a 20% discount! YAY! (P.S. 10% rebate on succeeding purchases. Don’t you just love that site?!)
I’ve always been a full coverage type of girl. Foundation has always been my best friend! But now that I’m older and wiser (what – okay – I’ve become a mother and know more about makeup and skin care now than before), I realized that I don’t really need full coverage everyday. Just like how I need to take a breather every now and then, my skin needs to breathe, too! Especially now in this CRAAAAAZZYYYYY summer heat, I’m sure my full coverage foundation would melt even before it sets on my face. Talk about heavy!
I figured that a great alternative to liquid or powder foundation for the summer would be a lightweight tinted moisturizer such as the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. I got shade matched to Alaska the last time I dropped by a NARS counter (for reference, I’m an NC25-30 in MAC) so that’s what I got. PERFECT SHADE MATCH! Upon first application, I thought it was actually a shade too dark for my skin tone. Once I blended it in though, it was perfect!
With this base, a little goes a long way. I usually just squeeze an ample amount on the back of my hand and apply the product using my fingers. I use my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend it in thoroughly. Thoughts on that sponge next time – I’m a bit disappointed by it! The moisturizer has a faint smell to it (kinda citrusy – or is it the SPF?) that lingers quite a bit but I’m not annoyed by it at all. I actually love the scent! It also has SPF 30/PA+++ so I need not lather on a separate product for sunscreen.
True to its name and claims, this moisturizer really does leave a radiant glow even with just one layer (one layer of this product is enough, after all!). I would always look lit from within, without looking borderline oily. Sometimes I would even skip wearing highlighter! These days, I seem to find my skin looking a little dull (thanks to stress, I guess?) so a little glow with the help of beauty products is my best bet. Also – summer. Sunkissed, glowing skin is the trademark summer look! Despite my lack of outdoor appearances this season, I’d still want to look like I’ve had my fair share of beach time (without the sunburns). Btdubs, I clearly remember being shade matched to NC30 in MAC last month, but early this month I went back and got matched to NC25! So much for staying indoors WAY TOO MUCH. Lol.
Longevity speaking, this lasts a good 3-4 hours on me before I start oiling up again. This is because I don’t have powder. I don’t own powder. Oh my gosh. Can anyone please suggest a good powder I can use? WHY DON’T I HAVE POWDER?!!!!
Anyway, to round up my thoughts on this one ~
Love the coverage. Love the lightweight feel. Love the faint scent. Love the radiant glow. Love the sun protection. Packaging could have been better, but a squeeze tube is perfectly fine. Staying power is debatable. Overall, LOVE THIS ONE. Definitely repurchasing when I run out!
Have you tried this product? I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, too!
