I’m guessing you guys have sensed my excitement about my new NARS goodies in this post – so here’s an entire entry dedicated to my thoughts on them! NARS has always been a counter I’d keep on going back to but would always end up not purchasing anything from. I’ve always been loyal to MAC (that I even used up my very first paycheck to get myself some new MAC goodies) that nothing just seemed to call my attention whenever I’d pass by a NARS counter (except for the constant swatching of Schiap). Everything was black and matte and I thought, “ugh, boring”.
When I started beauty blogging however, my thoughts on NARS have changed! With so many raves about the brand, I decided to have a change of heart. What I once thought looked boring now looked sleek and chic to me. It took quite long for me to acquire some products from the brand, so I had a lot of time to research on what the best ones are. What better way to start a collection than with the cult favorites, right? So I present to you, my little starter kit: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, NARS Blush in Orgasm, and NARS Highlighting Blush in Albatross.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard
I had high hopes for this concealer, having read so much good reviews on it online. I’m happy to say that it does not disappoint at all! The shade Custard matches me perfectly, whether it be used on my dark undereye circles or on red spots. I also think it’s worth its hefty price tag since I have never had a concealer work this well on me! So far my HG concealer – until of course I find something better.
NARS Blush in Orgasm
This has got to be my new favorite blush, not only because it’s the newest in my stash, but because it’s the most pigmented one I’ve got yet. My most abused blush right now is Benefit’s Sugarbomb (which is part of my Cheeky Sweet Spot) and it takes a couple of layers before the color actually shows up on my cheeks. With Orgasm however, one layer is enough! I love how despite it being pigmented, it’s not easy to go overboard and look like some glittery freak. I don’t know about you, but the shimmer actually barely registers on my cheeks. Although I’ve heard some people say that after a few hours the color fades away and the golden specks get left behind, I couldn’t say the same for me yet. I’ve only worn this for 5 hours max, and so far the color stayed put the entire duration. Have you guys had any problem with this blush? Do let me know!
NARS Highlighting Blush in Albatross
Let me be honest with you guys – I actually don’t know how to use highlighter! Before wearing this one, I actually had to re-watch some makeup tutorials on YouTube to find out where to highlight and how much to put. I hope I did it right – but nevertheless, on however I actually wore it, I liked it! Albatross looks boring in the pan but registers beautifully on the skin. It comes out as a golden sheen that makes me look like I’m glowing from within when hit by the light. I used my Real Techniques setting brush to apply this highlighter and thought I kinda went overboard on the forehead so I had to blend it out a little using my fingers.
Now wear them all together and what have we got?
Now that I’m a NARS virgin no more, I can’t wait to get my hands on the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, Audacious lipsticks, and pretty much everything else on the counter!
What’s your favorite NARS product? Welcoming purchase recommendations!
